W.E plant once began as a small business constructing Equine facilities. Amongst our other services we still provide a comprehensive construction service to the Equestrian community.
We have undertaken many projects constructing small private menages for DIY liveries to full scale arenas for competition yards. In addition to arenas and schools,
we are able to construct Racing Gallops and Polo Fields.
Location:
The ideal location should be on level ground with good free draining soil. This will ultimately reduce the costs of ground works as less substantial land drainage will be required. You should also think about what is around the arena, if you are schooling young horses and there is a paddock near by this may act as a distraction. Another thing to consider is ease of access not only for construction but also for daily usage. Muddy paths should be avoided to reduce the risk of contamination to your new surface.
Size:
The standard size of an arena is 20m by 40m how ever we can custom build arenas to accommodate your budget and level of riding you want to achieve. For example if you wish to compete at higher level dressage you may wish to build a 20m by 60m as this is the standard test size.
Surface:
Choosing the right surface for your arena can be a complex decision as there are many different surfaces for different disciplines. We can provide you with the right advice for the surface that will perform best for you and your horse as well as keeping in budget. These can range from a hard wearing rubber topping to a top of the range wax coated dressage surface. Please look at our surfaces page for more detailed information on our range of surfaces.
